Today was amazing.

A few days ago, we enjoyed a partial snowfall but weren’t sure if that was all we were going to get this winter, so we took advantage and went outside for some photos. We had a great time, but since there was only about two inches, it was very short lived and we were limited with how much playing we could really do in that amount of snow.

But today! Today was amazing. It began snowing around 4pm yesterday and it just kept going. By the time we went to bed there were several inches and by this morning when we woke up, it was a winter wonderland outside. We were all so giddy about having 7 inches of snow, because that amount doesn’t happen for us every winter in the Tennessee Valley. We don’t take it for granted when it comes, and the novelty never wears off for us! This snow reminded us a lot of last year’s February snow, and last year’s snow photos are some of my favorites ever!

The powder was so deep that we had to walk deliberately just to get through it! Again, we live in the south, so this is a lot of snow for us!

I asked Rich if we could please set up the tripod for a few family photos since we typically just take turns photographing each other with the girls…and I wanted to capture all four of us together. I’m so thankful he was willing to take a few extra minutes to get the tripod set up, because I love these family photos in our yard!

Then of course we got into some more practical clothes and got super messy having a family snowball fight. I like pretty color coordinated photos, but I also like crazy, messy ones too :)

Amazing, joyful family memories were made today, and now I’m onto the difficult task of researching (and then saving my money), for some printed books of my blog. I have needed to, for quite some time, print my blog because I no longer have time for any kind of scrapbooking. Even the time, money, and effort that it would take to order a ton of prints and slip them into albums would be too much. If you’re aware of a great service to turn blogs into albums, I’m all ears!
